OCCAC Player of the Week Nomination Criteria
The 2016-17 athletics year is upon us, which means player of the week nominations will be due.
WHAT TO SEND AND WHERE
To submit a player, you need to email email@example.com with the following information: the player's name, position and class year, along with a quote on why the player deserves recognition. There is no form. The quote will be used in the news release announcing the winner. Also needing to be sent with the nomination is the player's headshot (at the largest size and the highest resolution possible). NOTE: Please do not right click and save a headshot from the internet and send it to me. Most of the time, web photos are low resolution and not large in size. I need the original photo from your marketing department or whichever source takes your photos.
All of these items are due at 12 p.m. ET each Monday.
In volleyball, you may nominate one student-athlete for "OCCAC Player of the Week."
Due to only three teams being in the conference this year, there will not be a player of the week for the sport. It falls under the same deal with women's soccer.
NJCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The winner of the OCCAC player of the week will be submitted to the NJCAA for national honors. Per NJCAA rules, the OCCAC sports information director (Nicholas Huenefeld) submits the "Player of the Week" winners each week. With that said, a player must win OCCAC player of the week honors in order to be considered for national player of the week honors.
If any of the above criteria is not met or the deadline isn't met, your nomination will not be considered. There is no exceptions as this criteria has been in place for a couple years and is set by the NJCAA.
We will post the winners on the OCCAC website, along with our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/OCCACofficial) and Twitter page (@OCCAC_official).
You can also find current and former POTW selections by clicking the "AWARDS" dropdown on the main page and selecting your sport. Scroll to the bottom of each page for POTW winners.
