Columbus, Ohio---Columbus State Community College's Ellie Cain has been named the OCCAC player of the week.

Cain, a freshman setter, totaled 10 kills, 103 assists, five aces, 23 digs and three assisted blocks in three conference wins last week. She had 30 assists in a straight set win over Cincinnati State, 41 assists in a 3-1 win over Lakeland Community College and 32 assists in a straight set win over Cuyahoga Community College.

"Ellie is the only freshmen captain on the team," said Columbus State head women's volleyball coach Jaclynn Yocum. "She runs a dynamic offense and continually works to bring the best out of her teammates."

Cain has totaled 276 assists this year over seven matches for Columbus State (7-0). They will take on Otterbein University JV on Sept. 9, Sinclair Community College Sept. 10 and Owens Community College on Sept. 13.
