Riverview's Smith Joins 2014-15 Express Volleyball Freshmen Class

Riverview, Mich.---Deanna Smith, a setter from Riverview High School, has become the fourth signee in the 2014-15 Express volleyball freshmen class.

Riverview, Mich.---Deanna Smith, a setter from Riverview High School, has become the fourth signee in the 2014-15 Express volleyball freshmen class.

The 5'9" Smith is a two-time First Team All-Huron League selection, a one-time Second Team All-Huron League selection, a four-year varsity starter and a two-year team captain. She was coached by Tony Budimerovich.

"Deanna is a hard worker who understands the game, makes hard sets look routine and shows leadership on the court," said Express volleyball head coach Sonny Lewis. "She's a really good girl to add to the Owens volleyball family."

Smith joins former Riverview Pirate Lindsay Trumitch (2005-06) as one of now two Riverview graduates to play for the Express. Trumitch was also a setter in her two seasons at Owens.

Smith also joins Ally Mikesell (MB/St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio), Erika Hartings (RS/Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) and Amara Hemenway (MB/Bellevue/Bellevue, Ohio) in the 2014-15 Express volleyball freshmen class.
