Thiaw's Hat Tricks Worthy Of OCCAC Honors

Mohamed Thiaw, a forward for the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College men's soccer team, has been named the OCCAC player of the week in men's soccer.
The sophomore recorded a pair of hat tricks last week in wins over Ancilla College and Lake Michigan College.
In a 3-2 win on the road against Ancilla, Thiaw recorded all three of his team's goals. He followed that up with three more goals and an assist in a 9-0 win over Lake Michigan on Sept. 13.
Thiaw, who has 12 goals and three assists this year, is tied for the nation's lead in goals scored, and he is second in total points. He has three consecutive hat tricks and has scored at least one goal in all five of his team's matches this year.
The award is Thiaw's second of the season and fourth of his career.
Behind Thiaw's offensive prowess, the Cincinnati State men's soccer team is 4-0-1 overall and ranked No. 11 in the nation. They will be back in action this weekend against Cuyahoga and Lakeland at home.
