Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State's Kevin Walker and Tucker Beerman have been named the OCCAC's offensive and defensive player of the week, respectively.

Both of them led No. 9 Cincinnati State past Owens 3-0 this past Saturday. In doing so, the Surge claimed the outright OCCAC championship, their ninth OCCAC title in the past 11 seasons.

Walker, a sophomore forward, scored two goals in the game, in the 37 and 48 minute marks. It was his fourth multi-goal game of the season.

Walker, who battled back after a serious wrist injury earlier in the season, has helped lead the Surge to a 15-1-2 overall record while claiming the OCCAC title and the No. 1 seed in this weekend's NJCAA Region XII tournament. He finished the regular season with 11 goals and seven assists.

Beerman, who had the primary job of marking Owens attackers Bjion Campbell and Vijay Gentles, held those two to a combined two shots on goal as the Surge recorded their ninth shutout of the season. Beerman also contributed offensively, converting on a header attempt for his first goal of the season.
