Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State forward Justin Mitchell has been named to the All-American team by the National Soccer Coaches' Athletic Association.

A highly recruited player coming out of high school after leading Caroll to back-to-back state championships in 2009 and 2010, Mitchell evolved into a top goal scorer on the collegiate level, leading Cincinnati State with 19 goals and 9 assists this past season. He recorded a hat trick on two occasions against Cuyahoga Community College and in the opening round of the regional tournament against Ancilla College.

"Justin put together an incredible season," Cincinnati State Head Coach Mike Combs said. "He is very deserving of this award."

In addition to earning All-American recognition, Mitchell, a sophomore from Dayton, Ohio, was named to the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference 1st Team, the NJCAA Region XII 1st Team, the All-Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Team and MVP of the NJCAA regional tournament.

"It is a tremendous honor," Mitchell said. "Being an All-American caps off a great year for me and for the team."

Academically, Mitchell made the Dean's List for achieving a 3.5+ GPA and is on track to graduate with his associate's degree from Cincinnati State this spring. He plans to continue his collegiate soccer career at a 4-year institution next fall while majoring in business.
