Cincinnati State's National Tournament Run Comes To An End With 3-0 Loss to Louisburg

Darton, GA---The Cincinnati State men's soccer team's season came to an end with a loss to Louisburg Community College (N.C.) 3-0 in the second game of pool play

on Wednesday at the NJCAA national tournament in Albany, Georgia.

In a winner take all scenario in Group C of pool play, the Surge were unable to answer a Louisburg Hurricane offense, which came into the game nationally ranked 1st in average shots taken per game and 3rd in goals scored per game.

Louisburg's Andrea Chrysostomou opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, maneuvering past two Surge defenders and finding the back of the net. Adrian Gonzales would capitalize off a rebound from a Louisburg penalty kick to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead in the 67th. Rene Legien scored the games 3rd and final goal in the 75th minute as Louisburg, which improved to 20-0 on the season, advanced to the national semi-final.

Cincinnati State ends the season with a 18-6-1 record, while capturing a share of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference regular season title and winning the NJCAA Region XII regional tourney with victories over Owens and Schoolcraft.

The national tournament is being played at Darton State College in Albany, Ga. All matches will be televised via the NJCAA on-line network, www.njcaatv.ihigh.com.
