Grier Collects Four Hits as Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs Defeats Lawson State Baseball Cougars Varsity

Allen Grier had the hot hand on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs to a 7-2 victory over Lawson State Baseball Cougars Varsity.  Grier singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.

Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs fired up the offense in the first inning.  Preston Welchel doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the second inning, Lawson State Baseball Cougars Varsity tied things up at one when Goousby hit a solo homer.

Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Grier singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and JT Carter doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Dalton Neuschwander earned the win for Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs. Neuschwander allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out two.  Andrew Shirah and Garrett Mullins entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Shirah recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for Coastal Alabama South Community College Sun Chiefs.

Walton took the loss for Lawson State Baseball Cougars Varsity. The bulldog went four and a third innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out four.
