Shortreed Named Second Team All-American by NJCAA
Colorado Springs, Colo.---Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Year Wil Shortreed (Westlake, Ohio / Westlake HS) has been named a Second Team All-American by the NJCAA after a strong sophomore campaign.

Colorado Springs, Colo.---Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Year Wil Shortreed (Westlake, Ohio / Westlake HS) has been named a Second Team All-American by the NJCAA after a strong sophomore campaign.
Shortreed is just one of 36 NJCAA Division II baseball players to earn All-America honors and is the only selection out of the OCCAC. He was also the highest rated position player in Region 12.
He becomes the sixth Laker all-time to be named All-American and fourth under 12th year head coach Howie Krause.
Shortreed was selected as the top player in the conference by opposing coaches and earned All-Region 12 honors after guiding the Lakers to a shared OCCAC title and Region 12 Tournament appearance in 2013.
The third baseman posted a .402 average in 127 at-bats, recording 51 hits, 35 RBI, 32 runs, and 12 doubles in his final season with Lakeland.
