Final Weekly Awards of 2025-26 Presented

Five individuals representing four institutions are the recipients of the OCCAC’s final Spring Athletes of the Week accolades this season. Edison State Softball’s Emma Kamerer and Marissa Pine brought it back to Piqua while three baseball honorees were selected — Player of the Week Grayson Briggs (Hocking), and co-Pitchers of the Week Hansen Huth (Terra State) and Ryan Torok (Cuyahoga).

Kamerer went 12-for-15 (.800) at the plate with three doubles, two homeruns and six RBI. She connected on multiple hits in five of six games, all of which ended as Charger victories. Her pair of longballs came in back-to-back games, conference wins over Terra State and Lakeland.

Pine secured the prize for the fourth time in the last five weeks. She earned the win in all three starts, including a pair of complete games. Pine worked a total 15.0 innings, allowing just one earned run (two total) on six hits and five walks while striking out 20 batters. Two of her three starts comprised of five scoreless frames.

Briggs returns after grabbing the honor on March 30 as well. This go-around, he compiled 13 hits (in 19 at-bats), three doubles, two homeruns and 10 RBI during a 6-game week for the Hawks. Briggs came out firing, driving in nine runs powered by a double and two homeruns in a doubleheader versus Mid Michigan.

Turok and Huth both posted winning starts as their respective teams came out on top in tightly-contested races for the OCCAC’s D-II and D-III Baseball Championships.

Turok struck out 11 Bobcat batters in a pivotal win over second-place Bryant & Stratton (OH). His 5.1 innings on the rubber included just one hit and three walks.

Huth also delivered a win over the eventual second-place finisher (Owens; D-III). His stint lasted seven innings, seeing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with a sizzling 13 strikeouts.
