Bobcats, Chargers Sweep Weekly Honors

Pairs representing Bryant & Stratton (OH) Baseball and Edison State Softball were selected as the latest OCCAC Athletes of the Week on April 6. Gavin McLane and Max Wagar are the baseball honorees with Abigail Kadel and Marissa Pine securing softball recognition.

McLane put forth a monster performance as the Bobcats won four of six games. The Position Player of the Week drove in 11 runs, scored 12 of his own, and connected on five homeruns while hitting .526 (11-19) for the week. In Game Two versus OCCAC foe Terra State, McLane smacked a school-record four homers, racking up nine RBI in the 15-5 victory. That outburst ran his daily total to five dingers after a smacking longball in the first game of the doubleheader as well. A triple and four walks pushed his OPS over the 2.000 mark.

Wagar, the OCCAC Pitcher of the Week, blanked the Titans for a five-inning shutout in the truncated Game Three ending 21-0. He allowed just three baserunners on two hits and a walk while striking out four batters.

Kadel went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs during Edison State’s lone contest — a 17-1 mercy rule triumph at the University of Northwestern Ohio (JV). She earned the OCCAC Position Player of the Week award previously, just over a year ago on March 31, 2025.

Pine is a familiar face for this accolade, now the owner of seven such awards. This represents her first of 2026 after being named Pitcher of the Week five times and Position Player of the Week once in 2025. Her latest award-worthy showing was a perfect three innings in the circle, striking out seven of nine batters faced to register the win in a 17-1 mercy rule contest.
