Julee Phillips (Cuyahoga) and Andrew Smith (Hocking) are back again as the OCCAC’s Pitchers of the Week, a fourth consecutive honor for Phillips. Their teammates Reese Adkins (Cuyahoga) and Grayson Briggs (Hocking) are the Position Players of the Week.
Phillips swept the entire month of March in 2026 after also taking home the award three times last March. Her latest recognition follows two complete games spanning 11 innings, including a 5-inning no-hitter at Owens. For the week, Phillips did not allow any earned runs (two unearned) to come across on five hits and seven walks. She struck out eight batters in both road wins over OCCAC opponents (Hocking and Owens).
Smith shared the accolade last week, but owns sole possession this time around. The freshman hurled a 7-inning complete game win over Ohio Valley. He scattered five hits and two walks while surrendering a lone run while striking out a half dozen.
Adkins went 11-for-15 (.733) during a 4-0 week for the Triceratops. She was directly responsible for 16 runs (nine runs, seven RBI) and garnered three steals, two doubles and a triple. Adkins was a force throughout the week, recording at least one hit, one run and one RBI in all four games, including multiple hits in 3-of-4.
Briggs reached base at a .652 clip, stealing four bases and scoring seven runs as the Hawks were triumphant in 5-of-6 games. He hit .500 (8-16) with a double, triple and five RBI.
