Cuyahoga Softball swept OCCAC honors for the second straight week, joined by Triceratops classmate Patrick Farrell as the Baseball Player of the Week. Baseball Pitcher of the Week recognition went to Logan Walder of Terra State. All four winners this week are sophomores.

Julee Phillips wrangled her fifth career pitching honor and second to open the 2026 season. The southpaw went the distance in all three starts, eating up 20 innings on the week. She picked up two wins in the circle on the strength of a sizzling 37 strikeouts. Phillips surrendered just four hits all week, issuing seven walks for a total of two unearned runs. Both of her wins ended as complete game one-hitters with 12 or more K’s.

Lexi Grey, the Softball Player of the Week, scored a run and registered at least one hit in all five games during a 4-1 week for the Triceratops, bookending the week with 3-plus hit performances. She hit .688 (11-16) overall, driving in three runs and swiping a pair of bags.

Walder toed the rubber for five of seven innings during Terra State’s series-tying win over Muskegon in Game 4 of the series. He did not allow an earned run to come across and limited the damage from fielding errors behind him to only two unearned tallies during the 10-3 Titan triumph. His victorious outing included three hits, a walk and two strikeouts.

Farrell lifted Cuyahoga to a doubleheader sweep of Lansing — going 5-for-6 at the dish with a double, two homeruns and four RBI. He came around to score himself four times after adding two walks and a stolen base to his dominant day.
