Billings, Pothast Earn Player of the Week Honors
Heavy contributors both offensively and defensively, Sarah Pothast (Edison State) and Vanecia Billings (Lorain County), were awarded for their dual efforts from Oct. 14-20 and named the OCCAC Players of the Week. Both are first-time volleyball winners (Pothast is a two-time honoree for women's basketball as a two-sport performer).
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Heavy contributors both offensively and defensively, Sarah Pothast (Edison State) and Vanecia Billings (Lorain County), were awarded for their dual efforts from Oct. 14-20 and named the OCCAC Players of the Week. Both are first-time volleyball winners (Pothast is a two-time honoree for women's basketball as a two-sport performer).

Pothast drilled 4.00 kills per set while digging 3.89 balls. She also sent back seven blocks (6s, 1a) for a 4.83 points/set average. Pothast registered no less than 10 digs in all three contests and added double-digit kills in a pair for two double-doubles. She stepped up for 18 kills at a .325 attacking rate to go along with 14 digs and four blocks in a road sweep at Lorain County.
VANECIA BILLINGS
Lorain County Community College | D-III
Billings was a force at the net, terminating 3.45 kills per set and rejecting 1.18 blocks per set. She was responsible for 14 kills, a .500 attacking percentage and three blocks in the Commodores victory over Clark State.
