Week 13 Players of the Week Announced

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Three student-athletes received OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week distinction on Monday (Jan. 28). Delesha Jackson (Lakeland) and Whitney Thames (Owens) are the female honorees while Tre’maine Gray of Sinclair snagged the D-II men’s accolade.

Lakeland Community College | D-II Women
Jackson converted on 22-of-31 (71%) field goal attempts and hit 11-of-14 foul shots to average 18.5 points per game. She also hauled in 8.5 rebounds during two contests for the Lakers. Jackson recorded eight steals and four assists as well.

This marks Lakeland’s second recognition of 2018-19 following Selah Richardson’s selection on Dec. 17.

Thames averaged a double-double (13.0 points, 10.3 rebounds/game) as The Express went 3-0 last week. She added 2.3 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game as well, doing a bit of everything for No. 8 Owens. Thames logged 110 minutes on the court and committed just four turnovers during the extended playing stint.

Two teammates have also picked up the laurel this season – Taylor Works (Nov. 5) and Shyah Wheeler (Nov. 19).

Sinclair Community College | D-II Men
