For the second year in a row, Cuyahoga Community College has been crowned the OCCAC’s top athletics program as the All-Sports Award winners. The Triceratops snared at least a share of the OCCAC championship in four of six sports, including an outright title in undefeated fashion for the 32-0 baseball squad. 

“Winning the OCCAC All-Sports Award for the second year in a row — and in my first year — makes this achievement even more meaningful,” said Anthony Franklin, Cuyahoga’s Executive Director of Athletics. “It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience of our student-athletes, coaches and staff.”

In addition to the four conference champions in men’s soccer, men’s basketball, softball and baseball all advancing to postseason play, so did the women’s volleyball program — making it five of six punching tickets to NJCAA postseason action.

“We’re incredibly proud of our conference champions, as well as our volleyball team for earning a well-deserved postseason bid,” said Franklin.

Individual honors were aplenty in 2024-25. All six Cuyahoga teams were represented in the 21 All-OCCAC selections, highlighted by a whopping 17 First Team honorees. Mitch Harder was voted as the OCCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Year and Devonte Green brought home Defensive Player of the Year recognition on the hardwood. Two Triceratops head coaches were named Coach of the Year, going to Aaron Nixon (men’s basketball) and Kyle Stahlberg (baseball).
