The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) is seeking applications for Director of Sports Information (Part Time).

This position is a 12 month renewable contract with an annual stipend of $5,000. The OCCAC Director of Sports Information is responsible for coordinating all aspects of media and sports information relating to the OCCAC’s intercollegiate sports; promoting the athletic programs to students, parents, alumnae, faculty, media and other constituencies; and complies and maintains participation records for conference.

Will work under the immediate supervision of the OCCAC Board with open communications with OCCAC Athletic Directors and sport coaches and may be required to attend OCCAC Conference meeting as assigned by the Commissioner or Assistant Commissioner.

Duties shall include (but not limited to):

The Coordinator of Sports Information/Web Administrator shall:

    1. Compile, record, and publish statistics, scores, and all conference voting relative to conference standings and achievements on a regular basis in season

    2. Compile and distribute a media release relative to conference standings and achievements on a regular basis in season

    3. Establish procedures for information and news reporting of the member institutions

    4. Maintain a historical record of conference results, standings, and achievements

    5. Manage the URL www.occac.org via Presto Sports

    6. Manage conference's Facebook and Twitter social media pages

    7. Responsible for Krossover (Basketball) upload verification

    8. Serve on the player of the week committee

    9. Responsible for submitting conference POTW winners for NJCAA POTW consideration

    10. Assist coaches and ADs on technical issues regarding website, stats, etc. and make recommendations for web development

    11. Any other related duties as assigned by the commissioner or designee

Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree in related field required, a Bachelor’s degree in sports management, communications, or similar field preferred. Desired qualifications include a minimum of one to three years’ experience in sports information or related field. Qualified candidate must have exceptional problem solving skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and ability to resolve issues under intense time constraints. Demonstrated excellence in sports journalism, oral and written communication skills required. Experience in print lay-out, desktop publishing, web page design (Presto) a must.
