Cincinnati State Technical & CC wins 2009 OCCAC All-Sports Award
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College has won the 2008-09 OCCAC All-Sports Award. The Surge finished with an average of 9.125 for the four sports they sponsor. Cincinnati was the Champion in women's basketball, runners-up in both men's basketball and soccer and tied for second in golf. Owens Community College finished second in the standings with a 8.929 average for their seven sports. Championships for the Express came in golf, softball, volleyball and they also had a co-championship in baseball. Columbus State Community College finished third with a 8.375 average. The Cougars claimed the men's basketball championship and finished second in volleyball. The rest of the OCCAC All-Sports Standings can be found here.

Barlow and Ferguson named Co-Athletic Directors of the Year
Lakeland Community College Athletic Director Scott Barlow and Columbus State Community College Athletic Director M.D. Ferguson have been named OCCAC Athletic Directors of the Year for the 2008-09 schools year.
Barlow not only runs the Lakers Athletic Department but is also the OCCAC President and the NJCAA Region XII Women's Division Director. He also serves on several committee at the national level.
Ferguson oversees the Cougars athletic department that sent two teams to the NJCAA Nationals. The Columbus State CC women's volleyball and Men's Basketball team both qualified for the Divsion II Nationals. Golfer Evan Lee also qualified as an individual for the NJCAA Division II Golf Nationals.
The OCCAC congratulates both Scott and M.D. for the honor.
